Ask Us Anything Design Consultation

How it all works

  • Step 1: LET’S CONNECT

In order to determine if The Carolina Home is the right fit for your home, we’d love to meet and discuss your hopes and dreams for your space. We’ll take 20 minutes to review what you’re hoping to accomplish and follow up with a fee estimate proposal and timing.

  • Step 2: FEE ESTIMATE PROPOSAL

After we have gathered all the information about your project we will put together the fee proposal for the entire project. You will receive this in less than 5 business days from the consultation unless otherwise noted.

  • Step 3: PROJECT BEGINS

Once the contracts have been signed and the deposit has been paid, we’ll set up our first meeting where we’ll come to your home or meet virtually to begin the design process. We’ll gather measurements, photos, discuss your inspiration photos and then get down to business!

FAQs

  • Believe me, as someone who appreciates instant gratification and detailed timelines, I'll keep you as in the loop as possible on timing. That said, the length of time we'll need really depends on the complexity of your project as well as trade availability. Once we have met we will be able to give you a more detailed timeline and we'll stick to it as best we can!

  • Each project is different. Once we do our intake call and determine the scope of your project, we will provide you with key dates, including meeting schedules at the onset of the project. And if you want to hang for a glass of wine or cup of coffee outside of 'work' - we can work that in too!

  • Our designs are prepared after careful discussions with you and we do our best to articulate a design that reflects your needs. We will always offer 1 round of revisions to our initial mood board presentation to get the design right. If we go beyond the first round of revisions, an hourly rate of $150 will be charged.

  • We get it, things happen! If your budget changes in a way that will alter the designs (for better...or not so better), we will call a meeting between all key stakeholders and discuss how to best proceed.

  • Projects that are paused must be done via written notice. Once you have paused, you will be considered a new project and will be scheduled at our soonest available time.
